OEM FIPS-201 Translator – Translate FIPS-201 IDs to Wiegand IDs today with Common Pass™.
Common Pass™ enables any access control system panel to accept FIPS-201 ID cards, even where the existing access control panel is not designed to accept these cards. The existing access control system is left unaltered. Existing user ID cards continue to function normally without any disruption. In addition, FIPS-201 ID readers and FIPS-201 ID cards can now be used to allow access.

Common Pass™ processes the entire FIPS-201 cardholder number - the majority of ID cards currently in use have small serial numbers (5 to 8 digits) compared to the unique IDs on FIPS-201 ID cards (16 digits). To make existing access control systems function with the new FIPS-201 ID cards, some companies propose using only a small portion (5 to 8 digits) of the unique user ID. Partial card numbers are no longer unique to each cardholder. Any use of partial numbers reduces system security and defeats the purpose of issuing unique personal identity cards. Common Pass™ processes the entire Card Holder Unique ID (CHUID) number from the FIPS-201 ID card to maintain full security.
Common Pass™ translates the FIPS-201 ID to Wiegand - Common Pass™ processes the entire FIPS-201 ID card CHUID and translates it to the expected Wiegand code for that key-holder. Common Pass™ eliminates the requirement to replace existing access control panels.
Common Pass™ is a patent pending plug and play computer module (4” by 6”) and FIPS-201 processing software. Each Common Pass Module has the capacity to store and process 400,000 FIPS-201 IDs. The Common Pass Module installs between the existing card reader and the existing access control panel.
