Common Pass™ Technology - the Common Pass™ patent-pending solution includes a small (4” x 6”) state of the art Common Pass Module (CPM), CPM firmware and Common Pass™ server software. The Common Pass Module (CPM) can operate in stand-alone mode or in integration mode. In integration mode, the CPM plugs into an existing access control system between the existing ID reader and the existing access control panel. This unique positioning enables Common Pass™ to bring common organization-wide decision processing to every access controlled location.

Persistent Common Pass™ Common Database - positioning the CPM between the existing access control system’s reader and the existing access control system’s panel ensures a persistent interface between the existing access control system and the Common Pass™ common database. Changes at the existing access control system’s panel or at the existing access control system’s database server will not affect the integration.

Common Pass™ Situation Modes - Common Pass™ utilizes user-defined Situation Modes to provide access continuity and access command and control across diverse access control systems. Situation Modes can represent normal operating modes, or catastrophic events such as incidents, lock downs, storms or pandemics. Common Pass™ links a common database of people and IDs across the organization’s existing diverse access control systems. Situation Modes then determine how these people and IDs are granted access, even where these people and IDs are unknown to the existing access control systems. Common Pass™ also enables the existing access control systems to accept advanced IDs such as FIPS-201 “smart” cards, even where these systems are not designed to accept these IDs.

Situation Modes and Interoperability – Situation Modes specify how Common Pass™ interoperates with existing access control systems.
For example:

Situation 1 - allow the existing access control system to operate autonomously
Situation 2 - allow the existing access control system to operate autonomously and allow Common Pass™ to provide alternate access
Situation 3 - command Common Pass™ to assume complete access control

Situation Modes and Group Access - Situation Modes determine which groups of people are allowed access.

Creating Common Pass™ Situation Modes - creating a customized Situation Mode is easy.
1.    Name the Situation Mode.
2.    Select the groups of people, Responders, non-local personnel owner/operators, contractors and/or others, permitted access during the situation.  Those selected are the only groups granted access during this situation.
3.    Select the door configuration settings for this situation

This Situation Mode is then preloaded at each location.

Activating or Changing the Situation Mode - an authorized person can easily activate or change the Situation Mode at any location - either of three ways.
1.    Utilize a web browser and click on the location and select the appropriate Situation Mode; or
2.    Press a situation alert button for the location.
3.    Present a specified ID card at the location.

Any Person - grant access to people unknown to the local access control system. These people can include Responders, owner/operators, tenants, contractors, non-local employees or temporary workers. Common Pass™ has a capacity of 400,000 IDs (millions with pluggable additional memory) at each door. IDs can be administered from anywhere via a secure network connection and a web browser.

Any ID - carry a single ID card. Access can be granted to any ID format, even if the existing panel is not designed to accept these formats. These ID formats can include advanced state of the art “smart” cards including FIPS-201 cards. Three additional readers of any format, including advanced ID card formats, can be added at any door.
